There is actually a company with a website called Cheapflights on the internet. It has a great feature – you enter your departure point and your required destination, click the “Find Deals Now” button and the site spits out a list of available flights and the prices. From there you can click on the “Book Now” button or hit the toll-free phone number. How much simpler can it be? It almost takes the fun out of looking for cheap flights! A site called Skyscanner also provides a very sophisticated website and search service and in fact the further I looked at the list of cheap flights websites, the more and more interesting the game became. The sites not only offer cheap flights, but cheap everything connected to traveling – cheap accommodation, cheap car rentals, cheap insurance and cheap holiday package deals. So how come every time I drop in at the local travel agency to look for a deal or a last minute get away. I’m told that there is nothing? In the space of a few minutes I have found cheap flights to ski resorts, cheap flights to a jungle safari and cheap flights to pick up a cruise liner at any one of a dozen ports. Just look at this piece of cheap flights news I found: “Great deals this week include Virgin Atlantic's reduced price fares to the States and the Caribbean, as well as Ryanair's summer clearout that has scores of destinations on offer for less than a tenner one-way (and that includes taxes and other extras). For something off the beaten track, United has cut the cost of its flights to Brazil, while those with more money to spare might consider Silverjet's luxury New York packages.” I have a standing instruction with my travel agent – find me a cheap flights or a good deal or a last minute booking at a good price and you don’t even have to call me to confirm it. Just book it and email me the dates and tickets and I’ll go. At worst I’ll have to cancel a meeting or a dentist appointment. It looks as though I will have to do something about the travel agent one of these days. She is definitely not performing. Look at this: “Prices For bookings made by April 25, Chicago (£328/£868), Las Vegas (£458/£890), Los Angeles (£321/£841), Miami (£331/£868), New York (£278/£718). Why am I sitting here?
